Winter 2011 Workshops

During December we offer two workshops for students who want to bridge our winter break with a grammar review and more opportunities for conversation.

Winter 2011 Courses Class Schedule

Italian 1 & 2 Review Workshop

Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the vocabulary and grammar? This class will review chapters 1-8 in the Prego textbook. Students may direct instructors to focus on topics of concern. We will work to clarify grammar points and help students use them conversationally. This would be a good class for those who wish to continue but need to feel surer of their knowledge or for those who plan to take Italian two in January and would like a “jumpstart”. Typical review topics include: Irregular present tenses with idiomatic expressions, direct and indirect object pronouns, and the present perfect (passato prossimo) and imperfect (imperfetto) used in narratives and an overview of the future tense. A Prego textbook is encouraged although the instructor will provide materials. Instructor: Tina Morelli

Time: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Dates: 12/12/11 - 12/14/11
Days: Monday and Wednesday

Tuition: $55 (Check or Cash only)

Beginning and Intermediate Conversational Italian

Your instructor will conduct this class in Italian only and encourage student participation on topics provided by her or suggested by students. This class will help those still struggling with fluency and/or need more vocabulary building as well as “on the spot” response practice. Students should have completed at least Italian 2 or chapter 8 of the Prego textbook. Grammar will be reviewed when touched upon in class. A first or second year grammar text (such as Prego; Da Capo; Ponti) is optional but would greatly facilitate review at home. The instructor will provide all other materials to the students.
